What about espadrilles?

What about espadrilles?

Hey everyone! How are you doing?

Today I thought I talk about espadrilles. Espadrilles have been around for hundreds of years. They acted as footwear for peasants, and now all the brands out there have them in their Spring/Summer collections. They are usually made of cotton, canvas fabric and their sole is made out of a rope called “esparto”. But are they worth the price?

Personally, I love espadrilles. They are comfortable, look good so they are a perfect choice for summer. The only problem you should be concerned about is the sole. If it gets wet, it will start to fall apart. Now the two espadrilles you see on the picture are from Jimmy Choo and YSL. I got them last year around May and I wore them all through last years summer. They were quite pricey but I really wanted to try designer espadrilles compared to fast fashion ones.

They certainly look better, but no matter what the price, the sole will be a problem if you do not pay attention. I am planning to get a new pair and I’ve found this Spanish brand called Castañer – https://www.castaner.com/es-es/

They make footwear for men and women as well, and their pricing is not that bad either. Hopefully, they will be worth the price.

My advice to you is that try espadrilles but don’t go for the most expensive ones if it’s your first time. A lot of my  friends complain when they buy a pair of expensive espadrilles and they end up ruined that they are not worth the price. Like I said, you should look after these types of footwear.

There you go guys, What are your thoughts on espadrilles?

See you on Wednesday,

All about the stripes

All about the stripes

Hey Everyone! How are you doing?

It’s a new week and it’s time for another outfit post. This time I decided to wear stripes. I love how sailor vibes always make it to the catwalks, and this SS17 was not different. Burberry, YSL, Gucci and I could list many more brands that had stripes in their collections. So me and Fran decided to hit the docklands in London to get the most out of the shoot.

Now I know you all noticed that I have a bigger build and I always found the dressing guides for bigger builds boring. If you have some extra on you, stick to darker colours, forget the horizontal stripes. Even if you want to wear stripes, wear vertical ones. Don’t wear this and don’t wear that. Of course, there is a reason that these exist, but I always liked to experiment with clothes. At the end of the day it is you that you are dressing for, and if you feel comfortable, the ones who have objections are welcome to leave the room.

I know it has been quite a while since the H&M x Kenzo collection came out, but since I got this pouch, I’ve been wearing and loving it ever since.

There you go guys, I hope you like it and don’t forget that stepping out of your comfort zone is where the magic happens. I know this is a mundane quote that you probably hear every single day, but I think it’s true.

Vintage prints in the jungle

Vintage prints in the jungle

Hey guys and happy Monday!

Are you ready to start the week?

Todays post is an outfit and a place recommendation as well. Two weeks ago one of my best friends called me and said – I am taking you to the jungle for an afternoon tea. I did not know what to expect but I couldn’t wait to see this place.

She took me to the Barbican conservatory, which is inside the Barbican centre. It is full of tropical plants and trees, but is only open on Sundays. It is free to visit but you can book an afternoon tea as well. It costs £27.50 per person and you get a lot of delicious cakes and savoury bites. The one thing we found out is that actually some of the fruits were grown there, which I think is amazing.

You can book unlimited proseco for some extra, but it is really unlimited. We certainly enjoyed this option.

I was thinking of what should I wear for this and I decided to wear my new vintage print shirt that I got recently. This fitted perfectly with the whole jungle theme. Also, prints this season are very much in. This is good because no matter what your budget is, you can easily find shirts/T-shirts like this anywhere.

Wear your trench this spring

Wear your trench this spring

Hey guys! Let’s start the week with another outfit post.

This time I chose to wear another spring trend, the trench coat. I don’t know about you but I somehow always thought that wearing a trench coat is limited down for more casual or business outfits. Now we see that actually coats like lightweight parkas, trench coats, wool blend coats are multifunctional and you can combine them with different styles, and they are not just for the fall/winter season. So, get yours out from your wardrobe and hit the streets with it.

I chose to style it with black jeans and a mustard yellow shirt with vertical stripes. I think this outfit is perfect if you are just seeing your friends in the city or if you have some tasks to do but no business meetings involved. And if the wind is blowing, you can have your runway moments as I imagine when I am wearing it.

Hope you get inspired by this and like it. I will be back on Wednesday with another recipe.

See you,

A warm welcome/First outfit-wearing purple

A warm welcome/First outfit-wearing purple

Hello everyone an welcome to my first post!

Please check out the about section if you want to find out more about the content that I will be posting to the blog. I thought the first post should be an outfit because we will be talking about fashion mostly. I have decided to wear a major trend colour in menswear, which is  purple. This colour showed up in several SS17 catwalks like Versace and Hermès. A lot of my friends say that they wouldn’t wear this colour but I think you should not be afraid of it._19A6762

I chose to keep the focus on the oversized coat and the accessories. My advice is if you are unsure how to combine this colour, wear it with something dark like I did with military green or similar colours like navy. You can wear it with greys and if you are more confident, go with yellow.
